The Foster Care and Adoption Program in Jefferson County for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services is looking for Foster Parents in our area. Our recruitment plan is very community-based and focuses on placing children into homes in the same areas that they are being removed from in order to keep them in the same schools, neighborhoods, churches, and other familiar things in the community. People interested should call 502-595-KIDS(5437) Ext 5562. Parents should meet the following criteria:
- be at least 21 years old
- be physically and mentally stable
- may be single, married, divorced or widowed
- financially stable (You are currently able to meet the needs of your family)
- must provide suitable living arrangements for the child. (Children may share bedrooms)
- family preparation and approval takes at least 6 months
